Something 6.5mm would be my vote in that case. 260 or 6.5 CM.

257 roberts or 25-06 are also great choices but ammo can be a little tougher to find (roberts mainly)

I grew up shooting a Roberts and still do to this day.

What Camo patterns are there? I see kuiu and McMillan Camo stocks in that pic you posted. Is that an option for the $25 upgrade?

If you are responding to the question for non-reloaders, I would shy away from the .270WSM and stick with the other two recommendations.

Meant that I can't decide. Been looking at ballistics all morning, and have narrowed it down to a few. Won't be reloading!

We would need 50% at time of order and the balance on completion. Also, given our component choices Lefties are not an option on this one. Left handed actions are in the works, so maybe next time.
Thank you very much! You just saved me 2k.

I’ve seen my dad devastate some animals with his 25-06 we bought him. The Hornady 117gr SST can be found at academy or cabelas fairly regularly. We usually buy it 2 boxes at a time and start looking again when we get down to one box so we never run out. Not a terrible lot of recoil either.

I'm in the same boat as some of the others. All of this is foreign to me.

I've been thinking I want an 7-08. Is 7-08 a good caliber for say Axis, Mule Deer and Aoudad?

                              7-08 is perfect for that.
