No, it was on a cattle ranch somewhere around Los Fresnos/Harlingen/Ramondville... it was dark, to be honest I didn't even know which way was north!

Just now seeing this Kevin. What an awesome hunt we had with you! Chad and I were lucky enough to get 2 bulls to come into the same field Friday night. Chad made a well placed shoulder shot at about 150 yds and followed up with a heart shot. His bull ran about 25 yds and piled up. My bull came running across the field after chad shot so I had to get on the gun quick. The bull finally stopped at about 220 yds and I squeezed the trigger, dropping him in his tracks. My shot ended up being a high shoulder shot that broke his spine. Hunting with thermals was something I have never experienced, but I can definitely see how it can get addicting!

Hmmm, listening to all the guys on here I thought you needed a 629 Winchester Remington Weatherby Nitro Magnum shooting depleted Uranium tungsten bullets to kill nilgai.

Chad's is a TOAD! I'm so glad y'all both connected. After our hike, on Thursday, I would have bet that one of us would go home empty.

It's pretty crazy, the guide wasn't a bit concerned that his guns wouldn't do the trick.
The rifle with the night vision was a 6.8 SPC.
The rifle with the thermal was a 5.56!

Are you trying to upset the system?

You have to have a jumbo round it is all over TBH. If it aint a loudenboomer no nilgai will die!
