What to feed the axis during the winter to pattern them well and has anybody tried the thing where you use a kiddie pool as a water source?

Axis really like good green alfalfa. build a rack feeder and place a few squares from a bale and they will come.

They love roasted soybeans. I used a blend of 16% with corn.

Lyssy and Eckel's Exotic Breeder. They also like corn just fine.

If you actually manage to pattern axis, please do let us know...

They have been slamming the sweet feed at our place this summer.
