Oppinions- perfect sq footage for family of 4

I have 3600 Sq. ft. for 4. It is way to big. We have a media room and a game room that never get touched. Would rather have 2400 sq. ft. and a nice outside shop!!

Were 2230ish and I feel a bit cramped. Me, wife 2 kiddos and one small and one med dog.

I'd like a bit more room.

Oppinions- perfect sq footage for family of 4

Man we are spolied these days.

I grew up in a <1500 sq/ft 3 bed/1.5 bath home with a family of 4 and I know my grandparents did it with 1000 sq/ft or less.

Now we think 2000 sq/ft is too small.
