I shot my big deer 2 years ago on 12-12-16. Was the second rut for north Washington county. Where are y’all seeing them rut in bow season?

I saw them rutting at our place end of September last year. October was good month for different bucks as they were on the prowl.

I pulled cards over the weekend and I must say that this year could end up being a pretty **** good year compared to what we've seen in seasons past. Anyone seeing more developed deer?

Most of our bucks are coming along at a normal pace. A couple are further along than others. Nothing stands out right now. Hope a few more regulars show back up. Still missing a few middle aged deer. One 6 year old.

We haven't had a buck on camera since the middle of May. But...

The last property I hunted was like that. All we'd see on the camera during the summer was the same few does. Then from mid-October through gun season we'd have 12-15 different bucks on camera.

I put my stand up last weekend, and I'm probably going to go this weekend to finish brushing it in. Won't be much left to do before season starts. Just practicing with the bow and making the final touches on trimming limbs.

Checked the game cameras yesterday and dumped 3-inches out of the rain gauge. Things are progressing nicely. Our kitty is back also.
