Long range rifle, what to build?

Im wanting to build a long range rifle in the near future and i am trying to decide what caliber/model to start with. This will be my first built rifle, so any advise is greatly appreciated. I already have a .308 and a .270, so i would like something new. Im looking to spend about 800 - 1k to get started (not including optics) and upgrade later as funds become available. Would it be cheaper/better to buy the action and build off of that or would i come out ahead buying a factory rifle and upgrading parts?

6.5 creed, 243if you want to shoot factory ammunition, If you reload 260, 6.5x47, 6mm, 338 lapua depends on how far long range is to you. Will you be hunting with the rifle as well. Trying to shoot small groups or ring steel?

26 Nosler would be high on the list if I was looking to build or buy a long range rifle.

You prefer that over the .264?

I took Cajuns advice last year and had APR build me a 260 as I don't reload just yet but buy the Nosler 260 ammo. This round shoots excellent with little recoil. I have only worked it out to 250 yards but dead on accurate.
