Five stars backing up five stars. Both UGA and Bama will get plenty more backups.

Unbelievable depth. No doubt, they'll probably end up with the top2 classes.

With the early signing period in the books, there's not much to keep an eye on for some teams. Texas likely attempts to add 5-6 in February not including Coburn and Ingram as well as a OL grad transfer.

There is also the 10th assistant as something to keep an eye on for most squads.

Has Texas decided on a 10th assistant yet? I've been hearing Dodge's name thrown around....

Does 5* Jacob Eason leave UGA as a grad transfer with Fields coming in?

Fromm had a pretty good year as a true freshmen. Those two programs look pretty set at the position.

That's the name drop and it doesn't make a lot of sense to me as per the capacity/role he would play. He seems like a good analyst and recruiting coordinator.

I believe today is the day schools can make that hire so should be a lot of movement in the coaching world. The vibe I get is Texas could be looking at an OC option vs just taking a GA type hire / high school coach.

There is no doubt with Herman there are fewer “leaks” than the two previous coaches.

That's interesting. Would Beck likely be reassigned or let go if that ends up being the case?

Qb coach Co-OC, non play calling role. That's what I gather.

Makes sense as long as Beck could handle the 'demotion' I suppose. That would be the better capacity for him IMO

There’s been lots of rumors he was already wanting to move to RB or slot receiver next season to have a better chance at playing at the next level

Hopefully the Ag’s can put together a solid class over the next month

After watching last night's game, there is no doubt that the SEC has the edge on size, speed, physicality. While I think that all of us will agree that Saban is atop of the coaching world, Smart is not far behind. With the recruiting class that Smart is putting together, it seems that they will be a force to be dealt with for some time in the eastern division.
There is no doubt that Jimbo has his job cut out for him.
Adios,
Gary

While he was far from successful, the biggest problem he had was the O couldn't stay on the field most of the time. The D would just run out of gas eventually from being on the field so long.

I am not/was not a huge fan of the guy, but he made improvements for sure.

No defense can hold up being on the field that much.

I was displeased with the way Alabama as a team conducted themselves on the field. Very unsportsmanlike IMO. This young man was a bright spot on that team. Bama sure seemed very chippy throughout the game especially when they were down.

Why? He has two rings and a chance to keep the gig if he is good enough. Hurts is a great athlete and can play other positions. I have seen it. Besides, he may be happy to give that QB position up and play another position.

Well, one ring but who is counting. AL is LOADED at RB as well. They can be creative, but Hurts is probably the 4th or 5th RB on the roster. He has great patience as a running QB, and is one of the best running QBs, but not certain how he would be as RB.

Hurts never "flipped" on his decision. ALA offered him first and that's where he committed 7 months before being an early enrollee. Why should he have gone to ATM ? He earned the starting QB at ALA as a True FR, and was the 2016 SEC offensive POY. He was benched in the 2nd half b/c Saban realized his team needed a spark, and the only way they could come back and win was to establish a vertical threat passing game.

Really??

While I agree with the offense structure putting pressure on the defense. His run defense was a joke. HE had Garret and Hall ( both starters in the NFL as rookies) and got blasted every week.

over 2000 yds and 160 pts or more just in those four games last year.
