Special Late Season During the Special Late Season, harvest is restricted to antlerless deer and unbranched antlered bucks. An unbranched antlered buck is any buck deer with an antler having no more than one point.

It doesn’t say both antlers

One way to find out for sure. I know how I read it.

For archery and general season it states "at least one unbranched antler".

For late season it states "unbranched antlered buck".

Either way, I know what I'm NOT shooting.

Found a ladder stand on 39 yesterday. 2 pop ups and a ladder in less than 3 weeks.
Should open my own Cabelas...

Pulled camera. 4 days: Night pics of one doe. One morning pick of a yote.

Sunday morning saw the same group of 4 does I've seen this season. Beyond frustrated.

Time to relocate. I'll be coming to a unit near you soon....btw, I like to yodel on my way to the stand of a morning.

Took my little boy out to the Grasslands for our first deer hunt. Tuesday we went out in the relentless rain and checked our spot for the following morning. On the way out we saw a huge Buck leap across the road and a little ways down 3 doe. Driving down the road on the opposite side of the unit saw another buck jump the fence and head in a direction we liked,toward our spot. We had high hopes.

Wednesday morning we got set up in our spot just as day broke and sat for 3 hours. We saw nothing but birds. Duck hunters at the near by lake seemed to have a great day because they were popping off rounds all morning.

Very good experience and special time spent with my son in the woods. New wisdom and time to look into other units. I now understand why there are no deer on the LBJ.
