Hummingbird Wars

OK these little guys are attacking machines around our house when it comes to food. When the weather is like today, cool and misting/rain they step it up a notch or two. These pics are from last spring when the weather was like this for a couple of days. Started finding them dead under the feeders from the collisions and getting knocked out to land an cold wet ground. Found some with a little fight still in them and helped out a bit.

First pic is as found on the ground



Next is warming up a bit



then looking around at the new surroundings. Little guy stayed like that for about 5 mins before he wanted any food.

Thanks. I am glad they are not any larger as well. Almost taking your life in your hands just removing the feeders to fill them up. Been buzzed and strafed many times. Kinda like a chihuahua with roid rage. Definitely live up to the old saying "Not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog"
