Cotton seed feeders

Post em up, I need some ideas. I can’t afford to feed regular protein from now through September on 2 different locations.

First load I ever put out was 1200 lbs below (before I removed the floor)....While unloading it, I was worried about all the seed not in the cage on the ground going to waste. As you can see they cleaned up every single seed. Now I just sling it and and stack it as high as I can. 1200-1500 lbs in each tote.

Smart, how long does those totes last? Y’all have a lot
Higher deee density then us, we are 100 miles north of y’all.

Smart, how long does those totes last? Y’all have a lot

Between 1.5 and 2 months for me last year....depending on their usage and natural food availability.

At that time it was like $180/ton.....so $135 ish...


Its $225/ton now with all the flooding in my area around harvest last year so..$170

It is if you can find it in your area for sure.....plus you have to hope their supply last all season. My gin ran out in April last year. Had to drive farther to get some and after that I just went to alfalfa.



It's cheaper, a little harder to put out but lasts, coons don't eat it and it's leave it and forget it...

I have 2 cotton gins within 15 miles of my house, I’ll hit em up next week.

Just remember cotton seed doesn’t have the minerals. Best to have both if you can. We always use simple wire baskets.

I wouldn't waste my money on those. They just aren't needed.
