17HMR. Growing up running squirrel dogs in SWLA 410 or 20g shotgun.

In texas they are a little easier to get good shots than when they are used to being chased by cajuns all season.

Just picked up a new savage 17hmr yesterday. Going to chase squirrels asap! The 17grain TNT bullets are awesome.

22 short. If I used LR and shot into a nest the squirrel ran into, the LR would go all the way through the nest and the squirrel and they sometimes died in the nest. A short always routed them out.

I forgot about my .17. That is my go to gun lately.

I used to kill them by the bucket with a 22 growing up. I got a 17 HMR when I was 19-20, and it’s way more fun on small game. 17 HMR is awesome, but 17 WSM is a little more fun. Unfortunately rifle selections in the WSM suck, so the HMR it is.

10/22 LR. I need something that will reach the top of the trees & I detest cleaning shot up squirrels.

Prefer a shotgun for rabbits, but rarely get to go on a real hunt because we don’t have dogs anymore.
