Default Help With Hair Thinning!

How many of you on here have or are currently using some type of hair regrowing product?
Within the last year or so, may hair has thinned considerably and I知 now getting a bald spot. Hate to say it, but I知 pretty self conscious about it, being that I知 only 27.
There are tons of products and systems out there to help stop thinning and help regrow hair, but I知 looking for some first hand experience and not just some internet review before I spend the money.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

I知 no help but I saw a bunch of buddies try to 塗ang on to their hair for years and it always looked terrible. Most just shaved it all off and look much better in my opinion.

I learned how to shave it in the shower every couple days.

Best decision ever.

No bad hair days and I look like a ******.

I'm 54 and never thought I'd have disappearing hair issues since I had an epic mullet with thick, permed hair halfway down my back @ 30....but every year my forehead gets higher and higher. No birdnest up top yet, but I'll shave it smooth long before that. (only reason I haven't already is that the wife isn't fond of it ) Good luck in your search for a REAL remedy.

My cousin started using "Rogain". I'm spelling it wrong, but that's how it sounds. Anyway he started when he was about 25. He's 45 now and has a full head of hair. I wish I would have done it after seeing his results. I don't have any left to save

It may not work for everyone, but that's a good head of hair on a 45 year old IMO

Dont feel bad OP. I started losing mine when I was 16. I have pretty much shaved it for years. I run a trimmer with a number one guard every couple of weeks. My wife told me if I totally shaved it then she was shaving hers. So yea number one guard it is. LOL

Buddy of mine was bald by 19. He started using rogaine and had a full head of hair. It was thin, but it covered his head. He stopped using it because he said it was too expensive. I bet within a month of him stopping he was back to being bald.
I am 45 and my hair is getting pretty thin. I may give it a shot. I am not quite ready to let go of it.

He's been using it all this time. He was told if he quit then his hair would begin to fall out. If I was in my 20's again I would use it.

easier to keep clean
ladies like to rub the stubble
dont need to be looking in the mirror fixing your hair all day like a lady
no bed head
no waiting for hair cuts
more money not spent on hair cuts equals more money

Only con is if you have a giant egg head like mine. But hey, i do as good as the pretty fellers with hair.

Because of my head shape, if I shaved it I'd look like one of those evil genius aliens from the cartoons. Although it is now all gray/white, I'm fortunate to have pretty much a full head of hair at 62. (but I can't grow a decent beard)

im 55 and come from a family of balding gens . my brother went bald in his 20`s at 30 mine started receding and thinning went to the doc and was prescribed propecia and it works it slows the thinning down to a crawl . it is expencive but there is a cheaper med with the same drug in it as propecia and is much cheaper ( finasteride) ahs to be prescribed by your doc its not over the counter. mine still thins as I get older but its real slow doing so . the rogain only works for the top and back not the front. good luck

I started using Finasteride (Propecia) when I was 22 after my hair started thinning. I used it for around 9 years (stopping on occasion before/after my wife was pregnant). It stopped the thinning and now I don't take it anymore. My dermatologist said my results are somewhat typical. (i.e. stops additional loss, no re-growth, eventually able to stop taking it)

You can read all sorts of different articles online for the benefits/drawbacks; mine is just one anecdotal story.

Sucks that Saltwater was annoyed with the conversation I was hoping for some input. No help on the product but my 2 cents is embrace it and shave it when needed. If you have it and if it痴 gray ..well ..you have it who cares what anyone thinks.

I started getting the racing stripes on the sides, so I started shaving it down to the skin and grew a full beard. For some reason I致e noticed people don稚 really want to approach a guy with a beard and a skin bald head. But the ladies like it

I’m also 27. My hair was was thinning in high school. I just embraced it and shaved it all off my sophomore year of college. Best decision ever. My wife loves it. I just hope all the rest falls out soon so I don't have to mess with it. I shave in the shower probably once a week. I really do enjoy being bald

Its a sign of high testosterone and intellegance.

Just cut it short and keep up with it.

Was your Mom's Dad completely bald?

Typically that is where the genetics for thinning hair and baldness come from.

Now, if its really bothering you go see a dermatologist. They can go over possible solutions.

But besides your GS breatheren check out these famous people -

I知 in the same position but my wife thinks I will look funny. Guess I have an abnormal large dome. I知 about 55 and wear a 7 3/8 hat. She doesn稚 think it will look good. I just want to do it. So torn on making my wife happy and myself.

I tried the Rogaine and saw results. I stopped using it and within about 30 days all my gains were gone.

Just shave your head and spend a good bit of time out in the sun, tanning your head, get it over now and get used to it.

A buddy of mine lost a lot of hair, paid a good bit of money on hair implants. At first, it looked very odd, hard not to comment. But after time, they had a him a full head of hair, looked very natural. I was kind of impressed. Well that lasted a few years at best. He is about back where he was before they started. I don't think he is going to pay to have it done again, it was a fairly long drawn out deal to get him a full head of hair, then it only lasted a few years.
I keep wanting to shave mine off, or get electrolysis. I would love to get that done and just be done with the hair all together, but my wife won't let me, shave it or consider getting rid of the rest with electrolysis.
