Default Banded parakeet

Had an extremely random event while at the pool today. A banded parakeet flew in and my wife managed to get it eating from her hand. Being a male I decided I needed to capture it. No plus my wife started talking about how she had a pet parakeet as a child. Long story short I now have a banded parakeet in my house. Anyone know much about them?

It's hard to tell but that looks more like a budgie than a parakeet.

My son and I burried his banded parakeet on Thursday. I don't know what the band is supposed to mean but he came from the pet store with it on.

Since you caught it at the pool today, did you just happen to have a bird cage and bird feed to put it in? And what did your wife use to lure the bird to her with? Just wonder-n in case I ever have it happen to me. I might want to catch one.
