    Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg Vacation

We are taking a family vacation to Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg Tennessee in a couple weeks. Anyone been recently? If so, looking for ideas on what to do that is kid friendly (3 & 6). Also looking for restaurant ideas. We were trying to avoid Dollywood. Thanks in advance.

The Lumberjack show is best in town, got kids same age and they liked it.

The Titanic museum and Aquarium are nice too.

The apple orchard restaurant and the old mill restaurant were great. The moonshine tasting was good also, they will sleep good after that. Lol

While they are sleeping off the moonshine, you can head over to the zip line that runs 400’ above the river just outside of town.

Just got back, the old mill restaurant was good. We took the family white water rafting trip. It was about an hour drive to that. Stop at Smokey mountain knife company. We spent half a day there.

Be sure to schedule a visit to Cade's Cove.

We were there in April. Lots to do for kids and adults, the main drag is lined with go kart tracks and other things for kids. Check out the old mill distillery too and after that you can go across the street and have an icecream. It's good after the 138 proof shine you sample.
Didn't spend much time in Gatlinburg because it looked like parking was a night mare. The National park is awesome too.

We went last year. Take them in the alpine coasters. The kids should like that. We also did the white water trip. It was a good day. We took a camper, so we didn’t eat out much. We did have pizza at the mellow mushroom which was a hit. Lots of touristy stuff for kids to do. Don’t get in a hurry to get anywhere. One road in and out and it gets crowded I had no idea it was going to be as crowded as it was. Our favorite thing was cruising ace hiking in the national Forest

Try Joe and Pops/ momma’s chicken - the chicken, chicken n dumplings, biscuits and strawberry are good, the Alamo steak house is good, the loco burro is pretty good but avoid the jalapeño relleno ( fire )
Kids would probably enjoy the hillbilly golf, the ski lift ride up and down the mountain

Appearantly pancakes are a big player there as well. Numerous pancake joints in both towns

We went a couple of weeks ago. We packed a cooler and spent a couple of days driving the park and picnicking. Road to Cades Cove out of Gatlinburg has a cool swimming spot. The drive up to Clingmans Dome is really nice(highest point in the smokies). Once you get to the top of the mountain there’s a 50’ observation tower where you can see over 100 miles and 7 states on a clear day.

Take the chondala up to Anakeesta to have lunch and ice cream. There’s a tree house up there for kids and and you can take a walk amongst the trees on the rope bridge. Zip line and mountain roller coaster up there too.

My kids are older so we spent a lot of time ziplining and doing the mountain roller coasters. Pigeon Forge is filled with stuff to keep young kids busy, but it’s just a bunch of gimmicky stuff that you can do at home. Did hear that the aquarium in Gatlinburg was really good, but we didn’t make it over to it.
