Washing machine spindle and bearing replacement

    1. Thank God for YouTube
    2. Thank God I live in a big city where we have Appliance Parts Depot, which has all the replacement parts and special tools
    3. Thank God I haven’t broken anything...yet... I don’t think

    Fingers crossed

I’d just buy a new washer. Good luck!

Good deal. Have replaced the bearings and seals on different front load washers. The first time replacing them is a learning experience and well worth it. So far never had a new seal to leak prematurely. Bearings and seals are cheap.

Bearings are out! I’m 15 minutes into a 38 minute YouTube, and now that I’m at the completion point of taking it apart, I know what to expect for going back the other way to install everything. Grease and adhesive and washers could still be tricky but I really think the hard part is over

New bearings are in! I’m at 27 mins of the 38, and it’s all reassembly from here on out

We’ve already got three in the freezer so it’s all good!

Yes! It worked! Nice and smooth, all quiet, and most importantly the water stays in the machine.

Youtube always helps out! Once in the motor of my washing machine burned down due to the fact that on our street there was a strong overvoltage in the electrical circuit. I found a few tutorials to fix it, but unfortunately the engine died. I had to look for more information about the engines, as YouTube was not enough. In the end, I just bought a similar engine at a local sale. The washing machine is working again!
