Yes they will get into your food. They chewed a hole through one of my dry bags and they’re constantly running around the base of your tent. I always put my tent on a tarp. I could hear mice running around on it all night. Lol
Calm nights suck when you are trying to sleep you hear everything! Little wind and rain and I’ll sleep like a baby.

How do you combat the food issue? Hang it off the ground?

If it says 4 person, you can sleep 2 people semi-comfortably and you will not be able to stand up unless you are a midget! Ask ne how I know?

Yeah my buddy hung his, I left mine on the ground and they got some of my sunflower seed and chewed a hole in my dry bag. I was surprised myself. We were at 10,800’ an it was pretty chilly at night. Never would have imagined mice would be up there like that.

I'm a hammock and UL tarp guy. Unless you have a thick air mattress in the tent, sleeping on the ground can't compete with the weight and comfort of a hammock. IMO

I guess I feel like I’d be more comfortable with full enclosure
