        they dont like hot. or grasshoppers. i would wait till daytime highs are in the 80s, at least. early to mid october. hopefully it will start raining by that time too and that will help alot.

                On a serious note I've planted ours (oats, wheat and Triticale) for the past 4 years around the second week of October. I start watching the weather and try and get them in the ground right before a big rain. We have our fields prepped and ready by early September.

                  ^^^^ same, Fields ready by early Sept then watch for moisture. Early Oct. best. Too early and army worms can be a problem
