Full size Canada goose build-along

Some of you may remember when I posted this wood duck decoy I carved a few years ago:

I have not carved one since, but I am getting the itch and have decided to tackle carving a full sized Canada goose. I have mostly used basswood in the past but I ordered a big block of tupelo for this one. I'm trying to decide on the pose - head up, preening or sleeping. I'll post up pictures as I go along.

I was a little premature starting this "build along" thread - I've been sidetracked by some projects that leapfrogged the goose on my to-do list. (in other words, my wife keeps adding to the amount of landscaping she wants done in the backyard before it gets hot!) I'll bring this thread back TTT when I get started.
