Default Help finding Mini Aussie Puppy

I want to surprise my wife with a puppy. Been fighting off the begging for a purse sized dog for a long time. She met a mini Australian shepherd the other day and liked it enough that I need to act while I have a chance to save our house from the tiniest ankle biters!

Anyways, I'm looking for recommendations, especially within a couple hours of Austin. Anyone know someone? Hopefully they come cheaper than the designer puppies? Maybe someone has a friend with good pups?

How ‘mini’ are you wanting? Like pomeranian size, or 30lb size?

I'd prefer less mini, like 20-30 lb size. But smaller will work in a pinch. I was about ready to cave on a shih tzu before this conversation came up, so... yeah.

My wife got this one a few weeks ago. She found it on puppyfind.com. You can select an area and locate a breeder.

We love our mini aussie, he's a blue merle about 28 lbs. Smart as can be and super manipulative. Always gets his way!

Ours is a "toy" Aussie, so only about 12lbs, but she still puts enough hair to make a mess

That doesn't mean they won't shed. If shedding is a big issue, stick with the poodle

My brother in law had a litter 3 1/2 weeks ago. There is one left I believe. If you're interested, I'll check with him later today and get more details and can send you a pic of the one available as we are taking care of them while they are on vacation in Florida this week. They're $700. PM me if interested and I'll get the info.
