When I got to my place this morning it was too wet to sit in my ground blind. So I opted to get in the rifle blind with my bow to see what would show up. This guy and a smaller boar came in early. I was hoping they would take a trail which leads 35 yards from my rifle blind on his way out. The smaller boar ran out of sight. This one did start to leave the way I had hoped but changed course at about 60 yards out, moving pretty quickly. When he reached the brush line at 110 yards he stopped broadside. I thought what the heck, why not give it a shot. I put my 60 yard pin a bit over his back and let it fly. Miss! He didn't move, so I nocked another arrow and raised my aim a bit more. When the nocturnal lit up and started moving with him I was shocked. He only went about 25 yards and piled up.
I would never attempt a shot that far on a deer.
