Learn more about platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, including what they're used for, how much they cost, and what to expect.

I then bit the bullet and went the BMAC (Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate) route:

Again, the BMAC injections (2 of them) healed (repaired) my labral hip tear as evidenced by MRI, and subjectively by an absence of pain at the site following the injections. However, 2 BMAC injections did nothing for my lateral hip pain.

    Good luck,

    Dave
    Thanks for the info!

I've heard Joe Rogan talk about them multiple times on his podcast. Sounded like real ground breaking stuff. Like totally healed tears. The place he talks about is in panama because I guess they can't do it in the US yet. I don't know the specifics, just that it was some form of stem cell injection.

Yes sir that's where I first heard about it. I know most recently Joe and John Dudley have gotten injections done in Las Vegas. They both have had great results.

Remember - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Stem cell injections are not approved by the FDA. That said, my orthopedic said they take stem cells from your own plasma and inject it into joints and have about an 80-85% success rate. (Your own body won't reject your own stem cells and it is cheaper to get them.)

My suggestion to you is go see an orthopedic for your shoulder problems - not a chiropractor. A chiropractor is good for some things, but the shoulders should be treated by someone who knows shoulders.

As far as your back - go see a back specialist.

I have shoulder and back problems, too (although not rotator cuff). My physical therapist worked with my doctors to help me increase strength and flexibility, and reduce pain. I still do these stretches daily and it takes about 10 minutes. I have to or I won't be able to get dressed.

Call either of the two below...

Dr. John Conway (FW). He was the surgeon for the Rangers for 15+ years and is also the go-to for TCU and UTA.

Carrell Clinic (Dallas). Their whole surgical group is solid and would be a great option for you. They handle several of the Cowboys and SMU’s surgical cases.

I have been to 2 orthos for my shoulder. The first had horrible bed side manor. The second was great, he's the ortho for UNT. He said my shoulder does need to be fixed its just a matter of how long I want to live with it.

I've been to multiple chiropractors and back doctors for my back. The chiropractors I've gone to have mostly been quacks. The back doctor I saw seemed to think I was there to get pills. Which I wouldn't take even if I had to.

Long story short. I have learned how to live with my situation for the most part. And I may roll the dice on Stem Cells...

This podcast is where I first heard of stem cell injections. I feel like these guys have nothing to gain by saying it worked for them.

                      Shake & Bake:

Here is the name and website link for my doctor who did the PRP and BMAC injections:

                      Dr. David K. Harris

Several doctors in the Austin area consider him to be the expert on prolotherapy and BMAC.

                      Good luck,

                      Dave

I know and old boy that tore his labia a few years back that considered this treatment. Not sure how it turned out for him. [emoji12]
