    Fletching

Left helical, right helical does it really matter or make a difference?

    #2
    Personal preference.

I am right handed and shoot right helical because that is what the arows I started with years ago had on them.

Some people say that one works better to keep your screw in points from coming loose, but I have tried both, and the points still come loose.

It makes a difference if you are using a single beveled broadhead. The helical needs to match the bevel.

Other than that, I am told it makes no difference.

I don't think it makes any difference, unless, as SwampRabbit says, you are using single bevel broadheads. I'm right handed and use left helical, primarily because when I started, left wing were more readily available.

The only reason I use left helical is because I got a really good deal on a left helical clamp for my Bitzenberger.

If you're planning on fletching your own arrows you will need to match the feathers to the fletching jig.

I prefer right wing helical because I shoot 4-fletch and I can get the feather to touch my nose for a second anchor point. I am right-handed...not that it matters.

That's good to know. I asked because I've always shot left helical and I mistakenly ordered a dozen with right. Thanks!
