    Couple of Damascus Steel knives.

I whipped out these blades last week; both are Alabama Damascus Steel. I set the handles on yesterday when I got home from out of town and finished off the handles this morning. Later today I'll make the sheaths. Buffalo horn over D-2 steel bolster and the other one is stabilized Sycamore over African Black wood.

That D2 must've been hard to work with. The buffalo horn looks great.

It is Sam, but I have tons of 1/4" D-2 I sure don't like grinding that stuff sure eats up some belts, but it's pretty much maintenance free.

If I had a piece of 1/4" D2, I think I would use t to make a file guide for leveling the shoulders on my hidden tang knives.

I got a lot from a person didn't know what to do with it; like you I've used it for various things in the shop. I wish it was forgeable since it's so thick but D-2 and the forge do not get along.

Thanks guys, I intend to be making a lot more Damascus, they have been a good seller for me. The little one sold as soon as I posted it on Facebook.
