    High shoulder shot - rifle

How many of you guys take high shoulder shot?
If so, have you had good success with it?
    Thanks!

    Yes, and yes.

I take my rifle shots right up the leg and about 1/2 way up the body.

Take the wheels out and you are generally good to go.

Me. Too old to drag 'em anymore. I like to drive right up on 'em. And yes, it works every time. Don't use a plastic tipped bullet though, too explosive.

High shoulder shot will disrupt the central nervious system and drop them right there. High means high, at least 3/4 plus the way up and right on the tip of the shoulder.

Do not discount a shot in the base of the neck. Same results....DRT every time.

I started doing this instead of behind the shoulder. This way is better.

Yep. Every time I shoot a rifle. No more tracking.

Some loss of meat I would assume, but I think DRT (in many situations) would be worth it.

Anywhere from behind the ear to above the shoulder blade about 5" from the top of their back. Drops them everytime.

I shoot bucks behind the shoulder if they are broadside. Easy blood trails.
Lower the better. Does and pigs I get a little more creative.
I want the hogs DRT and no dragging or trailing. We have lost a lot of boars with crappy
                        Blood trails.

Yup! I've seen tiny calibers knock em down with the high shoulder shot.

That's my go to shot. Kills are usually DRT and dramatic.
