    Age Dilemma?

Background: New lease just got on in July so zero history with these deer. MLDII property but looks like the top deer where shot out by previous hunters. We are covered with big 8's but only 5 or less deer with G4's. I have this 9 coming in regularly on camera and I think he is 4.5-5 but my buddy says he is 7+. What says ya'll?

its so tough to tell age on a buck in velvet when you have no history with the deer. But from my gut, I would agree with you assessment on age over your buddies. Nothing about that buck at this time screams post-mature from the pictures you provided. He looks like a very nice middle aged buck.

Yeah sorry about that. The camera is on a hill but the raccoons will not leave it alone. They always find a way to turn the camera. Working on a new mount as we speak to stop it.
