Sounds like I shot a big buck and now its in the river then I found it and got it mounted thread all over again! put up a bunch of came and find out.

Comparing the back pad of the track in the picture to lions we have trapped, it's definately a dog; The lions have a differently shaped pad than the ones in the picture.

I think you got a canine- look at the points on the 'toes' and the pad on the bottom as well. I'd set up a camera and throw a pig hide and gut pile there- cougars love that to eat. I shot a hog one, dumped the hide and guts down a hill. Construction guys with a backhoe were there the next few days and I hear the owner tell me one was 'trapped' on the backhoe by a cougar!

Talked to the neighbor of of one of the properties next the ours and he said one of his calfs has claw marks

It's a deep track cause it had just rained a couple inches 2 days befor I went out there. And if I can get pics of the cubs marks too y'all would say it's a kitty. And on the tracks further down where it wasn't as soft there were no claw marks.. I still think it's a cat guys You'd have to see it in person

I would like to see photos of the cub prints if you get them.
