      Sounds like I shot a big buck and now its in the river then I found it and got it mounted thread all over again! put up a bunch of came and find out.

        Comparing the back pad of the track in the picture to lions we have trapped, it's definately a dog; The lions have a differently shaped pad than the ones in the picture.

          I think you got a canine- look at the points on the 'toes' and the pad on the bottom as well. I'd set up a camera and throw a pig hide and gut pile there- cougars love that to eat. I shot a hog one, dumped the hide and guts down a hill. Construction guys with a backhoe were there the next few days and I hear the owner tell me one was 'trapped' on the backhoe by a cougar!
