    Oak for Poultry?

So I'm just about out of hickory pellets but have some oak pellets. What do you guys think about using oak on poultry?

I find oak to be lighter flavored than hickory. You should be fine.

What kind of chicken? I’ve practically given up smoking skinless chicken breast.

Gonna do some chicken wings. 275 for about an hour and a half. I tried las week but it ended in disaster. Got them cooked. Bumped temp up to 400 to crisp them up but I guess I didn't get enough of the grease cleaned from my pork butt from the week before. The whole thing went up in flames. Ordered pizza for dinner.

If grilling I dont think anything beats grilled chicken over mesquite.
