Holiday Charcoal? I guess it's not too early to get the family some Christmas stocking stuffers.

Now we got it rolling in the right direction, mostly.

Fish are bite-n. And there's hogs to be kilt. Gotta go!

Absolutely right. Next step in the process.

That takes all the fun out of it . I was gonna bury some plant and animal matter. Then wait a million years or so for it to dry up. I should be as old as Burnadell by then.

Following! I'm hoping to find a good deal on some ribs and a brisket.

I just picked up a few briskets at our local HEB. $1.99 / pound with an additional $10 purchase, limit 2. These were "packer style" so on the smaller side. There were some larger ones for $2.48 / pound and I grabbed one of those too. Two for the freezer and one for memorial day weekend.

Maybe I've been out of the loop for too long but since when is $2/lb a good enough deal to buy more than one brisket?

Some Walmarts have 30lbs for 7.88.

Since I had to pay $3.99 last week to smoke one for mother's day.

Beef is expensive, especially since we eat mostly venison and I don't look at the price often on steaks.

With brisket, best deal I got here locally last year was 1.78 lb. And that was due to a price war between Kroger and HEB. And that was the lowest it's been in a few years here in the north, while the south most parts got it much cheaper than that over the last few years. Meat can vary in different parts of the state as to who has sales and who doesn't. So that is why I asked that you post the sales for your local area, to help others in your area.

Granted, there are times when a company will have a sale state wide! Then everybody wins!

Rat-Gone are the days you will see brisket under$1.50.

HEB has twin pack 12.9lb Royal Oak Charcoal for $6.98. I don't know if that's good or not because I use wood.
