Finally caught up with my target buck this morning. I shot him at 23 yrds and watched him go down in sight. Its bitter sweet...been watching him for the last 3 seasons and this years rack is by far his coolest.
I could talk for hours about this buck ... He means a lot to me and I've sure enjoyed the ride.
This deer was a Loner and more than naught would normally just set back and watch...He wasn't one to come in a bust up the crowd for corn or anything.
I didn't give him much time to change his mind once he got within my bow range. I turned on the video camera and pulled back as he was approaching. As soon as he offered the shot I let the Hoyt go and watched the red Nockturnal disappear right into the crease behind his shoulder...The Wasp Jak-Hammer did a number on him.
It was an awesome hunt and I wont be forgetting this one anytime soon. The only bad thing about it all was he stepped out of the camera screen when I shot. I did manage to get the camera back on him as he was going down.
After I gained my composure, I walked up to him and admired him for a good bit. Had a long talk with God and gave him thanks for everything.
We took a lot of Ldp's and Jeremy did a great job on the pics.
Thanks for reading and here's a few pics of the deer I call "Trashy" ... 14.5" wide and 36 3/8" mass.
