What kind of wood do you think this stock is??

Belongs to this lady who inherited it from her FIL...she wasn't sure & I was thinking maple but she didn't recall that ever being mentioned.

It does look like curly maple to me. However, I had some custom cabinets made out of ash once that looked a whole lot like that stock.

Looking at the pic of the whole gun I could see how you could think that. If you look at the zoomed in pics it is definitely maple.
