Hunting Lake Waco CL

I am thinking about hunting there this year during archery season. What do I need to hunt there??? Do I just show up and hunt or do I need a permit??

bow season just show up an hunt no permint but when gun season starts you have to be drawn to hunt.

Yep! Dont' get caught in one of the hunting areas without a permit once the general season starts. Here's a link to rules and info. Never mind the "2013" wording as they have not updated that part of their web sight. All of their links and pdf's are updated though.

hunting is good last year was my first on waco shot a doe if i was you i would stay away from the higginbottom area seems to be the popular spot gets crowded.

I will be hunting the Hog creek area of the WMA for archery season. It will be my first season to hunt out there as I have always bow hunted private or at a buddies place in Arkansas. I know there are a bunch of deer out there, just hoping some walk into the areas I have scouted!!

I shot a buck and a doe. Got a post in the public land kill thread. I missed a 140" but the one I took was an old 21" wide 6 point. I did this with shotgun during my draw week btw. Archery only season is extremely crowded.

I do believe so. Lol. I live in Hewitt so hunting lake Waco during October is easier than driving out to the other place.

Hunted higginbotham this year. Was my first year Huntin waco. Really enjoyed it. It wasn't very crowded. Only got walked up on once. But saw deer there almost every sit. I do get off work earlier than most.
