I can give no advice on wood arrows but have fun with them, whatever ones you get.

Bisch, you must of had a very bad experience with wood shafts. lol! When I go to wood I'm gonna get port orfard cedar. Good price and fairly tough from what I understand.

I use P.O cedar, Sitka Spruce and Douglas Fir; they all do the job.. The Douglas Fir is probably my favorite because of weight and durability..

I shoot woodies and love em. The only bad thing is sometimes when you dont get a pass through the arrow breaks and plugs the hole and that equals No blood.

I shoot footed arrows I like the spruce fir and cedar. I shot some ash arrows a couple times and it sounds like a baseball bat hitting the animal. Whatever floats your boat.

On a serious note look up Hildebrand arrows and give them a call Ron is good people and been suppling everyone else with the shafts. So cut out the middleman and go directly to the dowel making man himself. I would get tapered premium spruce there already spine matched within 4 pound and grain matched within 10 grains. put three feathers and a nock and a 125 poin on and go to shooting.

When you order your wood shafts you can tell then what weight you want and they will get real close to that weight.

If you want some lighter weight shafts then go with the tapered sitka spruce shafts.

The terms LIGHT WEIGHT and WOODEN ARROW are rarely used in the same sentence...
