Thanks for the info guys. Very helpful. Now I know better. I basically was looking for a custom knife made in Texas and when I seen it was made from east Texas I jumped on it. I should have took my time and done more research.

There's a number of good knifemakers on the green screen! I've held some Chops knives and they are VERY nice...Bob Jankowski is another good one that comes to mind! Then there's a few of us that aren't sponsors, but we do pretty good work too!
FWIW, there's a business called Texas Custom Knives or similar that imports this crap. Nothing at all Texas about it, except that they're based in Houston.
As Leon said, if it's good, they'll mark it, tell you what's in it or where it came from, and the price will be higher. You do in fact get what you pay for in this case.
