I ain't married. And I got all next week off start-n today. But may not be able to get out either. Been hammer-n the OT at work for the last 6-7 weeks. Got a bit of family time planned. And a lot to catch up on around the house. Will have to see.

TG, I know the feeling. I’m working tomorrow. Don’t have to but can’t pass up a full day of OT. So I guess no hunt this weekend. Good luck to everyone out there this weekend!

Probably a stupid question, but I can't find info anywhere... Can you hunt hogs at night on COE Land?

Merry Christmas to you all.

I'm getting one more last chance at the W. My wife and I did our Christmas with our boy yesterday, and we just wrapped up Christmas with her family, so she let me off the hook this afternoon. I'm heading down now for one more shot at a W buck.

So far, from the hunting reports, H-7 is leading the units with 7 deer killed there. That is with 5 hunters making reports (for what ever that's worth ).

To who ever I bothered today, I didn't mean to send the skunk your direction.
I was just trying to get it's attention before it got to close to me. Hence the slight noise I made.

After running the skunk off, I saw a hunter pop up about 60 yards away. And start walking around several times before he sat back down. I then backed out.

Skunks don't normally forage during the day. They are mostly nocturnal, unless they have rabies. I have seen them out just after sunrise. And in the late evening before dark. It was probably confused since it was so cloudy out. And did not act abnormal from the skunks I've dealt with in the past.

Well TG, at least you didnít get sprayed. It was another long cold day again. Glad Iím still seeing deer, just wish I could see one that is legal to shoot. There is a 12Ē 6 point that must think he is my pet. Seen him 4 of the last 6 sits.

Sounds like where I was hunting. There was a 6 point out there all the time. One day I got up to relieve myself and when I turned back around he was staring me down from about 40 yards. He blew once and just stood there. I got back in the blind and he came right in to the corn and acted like I wasn't even there. I wondered if he could have been a pet at one time

Made it out for a second day this season. Had early am chores so did a bit of scouting. Found a dumped fresh kill near parking lot while scouting. Warden stopped me on my way in at another and reported to him. Other than that it is a good day. Anyone else out?

Missed some time this week getting shots in my back to help push me through the rest of the season. Saw hogs and deer yesterday in the spot where I will be making my last stand for a public land buck this season. Unfortunately, they were just not in the right places/ranges for a shot. Hope everyone is bundled up, gonna be a pretty day. Yíall be safe.

Be careful out there. Hypothermia can get you before you know it. If you start get-n sleepy, get down and go home. And be careful crawling down. Everything is gonna freeze today. Down there too. If you take a fall and get hurt, you might freeze before help ever gets to you.

Made it until about 2 in the cold. It got to the point where I couldnít feel my toes and knew it would only get worse from there. Need to find a way to keep my feet from freezing. Had to crack the ice of my laces to get my boots off when I made it back to the truck. Doesnít help having to make water crossings. Gonna try again tomorrow when the hangover subsides.

I wish you all a safe and Happy New Year!

You guys are tougher now than I am (maybe), I don't hate them that much any more. Rearranged my tackle boxes today, ran my new fish finder on the demo mode, had some beer, stayed warm.

Kind of nippy out there today, I saw nothing but birds and the pigs came in last Night! I'm gonna keep the corn up till March and then I'll catch up with them.

Got a late start. Didnít see anything moving today. They were moving a lot around the house while I was up through the middle of the night. Still a lot of bright nighttime moon. Gonna try to get back on the early schedule tomorrow and pull another all day sit.

Was a long day today, just now getting settled in back at home to sleep for a few hours. To frustrated to share everything, but have a hog hanging and a deer in the woods I could not locate. Thankfully it is cold out tonight while I prepare to resume recovery efforts in the morning.
