This is what I shoot. I know the N or C are good but Oly holds it's own and the ZD glass is hard to beat.

buy the one your buddies have (canon or nikon)

really helps to have close friends in the same camp who can help as you mature

..and buy what ever your buddy has lots of expensive lenses for already. Save you a bunch up front and later.

Thanks to everyone for the input. I'm looking seriously at the D60 or D80. I have no friends into photography so I guess I'll have to get all the lenses myself.
