Headed out to the ranch Saturday afternoon and had plans of going back to the tripod where I let the boar get away two weeks ago,Breck was coming to do some filming so while I was waiting on him I drove around and came over a hill and there were about 20 or more good hogs out in the sunlight rooting.I had my muzzleloader already loaded so I eased out and made a big loop trying to keep the wind.I almost made it in on them when I about ran over a big sow laying in mud hole and she blew out of there,the other hogs were about a 100 yards out and started filing toward the brush.I got a rest on a small tree and thumped the last one in the bunch.She made it about 150 yards but left a heck of a blood trail.Breck arrived alittle later and we went in and videoed it.Well thats hog number four. After that we dropped Stratton off at a corn feeder and went riding around killing time.Right when the sun was going down we spotted another herd on a hillside about six hundred yards away.I tamped another round in the muzzleloader and made a long stalk and everything worked out and I got hog number two for the day.Went and picked up Stratton after dark and he had smoked a medium sow with his bow,made a great shot.It turned out to be a great afternoon.
