So take lower jaw (1) and cut along the black line. Attach that to a flat wood plaque.
Take the upper skull (2) and put it back in place on top of the remaining lower skull (minus what you cut off).
When you put it flush on the wall it will be lower profile without the back of the lower jaw but still have the front tusks and teeth.

I get what you are wanting to do, but you would need to cut some of the skull as well to get the angle right. However, it is possible and would probably turn out pretty good.
