Life is very confusing

My wife and I were in Lisbon Portugal last week. Having one of the best vacations of my life. I get a call that my dad had a 4hr stand off/negotiation with SWAT before shooting himself in the head killing himself. We haven't had the best relationship in life but this has me so mentally off balance. I have no idea what to think
