    Smoked deviled eggs?

I've read about people smoking eggs but I'm wondering about making a twist on the deviled eggs with those smoked eggs. Anyone have a recipe that they've tried?

Never smoked them before. We pickle them and make deviled eggs.

sounds good. In for recipe. When I was a kid I loved boiled eggs pickled in beets. You wouldn't want to be within 20 yards of me though.

Sounds like a good weekend experiment/project for me.

I think you'd smoke ingredients that went into the filling, and fold in the mayo before assembly.

Hard Boil a dozen large eggs

                  Cool and peel

Put in smoker at 175 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour

When cooled, cut in half and pull out yolks.

                  Add:

                  1/2 cup Miracle Whip

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder (garlic salt makes it too salty)

                  1/2 tsp Ground black pepper

1/2 tsp Cajun Spice (more or less to taste)

                  1/4 tsp Salt

3 full slices of bacon cooked and diced up very small

Mash together thoroughly and reinstall into egg halves.

If you want a little more zip, top it with a thin slice of jalapeno.

                  Sprinkle tops with smoked paprika.....
