Pheasants and other birds on the Plains

We hunted hard today. I spent more time and effort tryng to get my son and nephew on a rooster than taking pictures, but I managed to get a handful of shots. When I finally took some time toward the end of the day to take some "pretty shots", I ran out of battery before I got anything good. I put the spare in, and it was dead too. I'll get them charged before we head out tomorrow.

I knocked down a silver rooster, but he ran off into the weeds before I could get to him. I'm dogless nowadays, and it hurt today. We lost 3 or 4 pheasant and a quail. Birds are WILD this late in the season. Getting up pretty far out more often than not. We had a great time. Always fun to hunt pheasant with family.

We saw a bunch of other birds too. None of us had waterfowl stamps, but I shot all of these anyway.

Not the best backdrop, but how many species in this picture?

      Good stuff Shane!

I love hunting Tulia. A huge variety of birds and the constant smell of Money no matter which way the wind is blowing.

How 'bout Angus, Charolais, Hereford, etc... Probably more crossbreds than anything though.
