So errybody is pumped up on Hernan and this season. Am I correct? Yet we still donít talk about the glaring issues from last year, the OL. Am I correct? Didnít UT miss big on OL recruiting in 2018? Arenít yíall struggling again in 2019ís class? Are yíall really putting stock in the CUSA grad transfer who was 3rd team honorable mention last year in a conference that only had one OLineman drafted? Letís talk.

Yíall better hope Sheppard joins the fold on the forty. I just donít see a breakout season for Texas. Iíve been wrong more than right but Iíd say tap the brakes in Austin.

Hereís the roster table, you can subtract Grandy. Players in bold were starters in Ď17.

2018 was a pretty solid year of OL recruiting. Hopefully they all redshirt as all Oline should in a good program should. Grady is a bummer as that would be added depth.

2019, struggling....... child please itís freaking July. Oline typically develops later in the process. Thereís a 5 Star already committed and 4 Star Shepard looks like a horn despite ETM A&M lock pick.

Not to mention Texas went out and hired Herb Hand. One of the most respected guys in the country. If you are going to talk about another team, do some research.

He was / is. He is the OC at WVU (Dana calls most of the plays). His time at Texas wasnít terrible considering what he had to work with, the QB situation (a good QB can really help an OL), the lawsuit hanging over him and lastly he did jive with the other coaches. I think he was who we said he was but couldnít pull a rabbit out of his hat.

Herb Hand is coming into a much better situation. Plus heís from the SEC so that automatically makes him the best.

They are snippy. No Texas fans are talking about Texas going to be in the National title hunt this year and they act like we are. Most of us are talking about things are getting better, on the right path, expect to win 8/9 games.

Who is the 5 Star in 2019?

Herb Hand could be a good hire but he was bad at his last stop. Auburn fans were happy to see him go.

Noticed the same. Haven't seen one even say Texas was gona be close to a NT anytime soon yet that's where aggy goes everytime for some reason.

At the time of commit Tyler Johnson was a 5 star OL/OT. It has been said on the Twitters he does zero camps and that led to his downgrading, if you can call having a .9831 composite a downgrade, to a high 4 star.

As far as your Herb Hand comment...see how this works.

Jimbo Fisher could be a good hire but he was getting bad at his last stop. FSU fans were happy to see him go.

The biggest higher for the Ags isnít Jimbo as far is his staff goes, itís Dickey and how he alters Jimbos offensive philosophy in 2018.

Herb needs to have an impact for Herman.

The matrix model for 2018, he mentioned teams 2-5 are interchangeable. His model takes all sorts of evaluations into play.

He has Ags at 8-4, 3-3 in division.

Texas has the talent to win. The Oline is in better shape. If they go 7-5 blame will fall squarely on the HC and his handling of the O and play calling.

Watching the replay of him beating Alabama right now, man what a wasted talent. Pretty sure we wonít see him like he was at the peak of his career. Hope so, but not likely. It would be a W for him if he can just maintain a healthy life style at this point. Which I hope he does

I lived in Aggieland during the Manziel days and it sure was an exciting time to be in that town. But the way he presented himself around fans was terrible. I lost all respect for the guy when he came into Academy talking on his phone cursing out loud in front of kids who wanted nothing more than to meet Johnny Football and he just ignored them. The guy was a great talent but didn't know how to control himself off the field. I wish him the best after all the troubles he has had but I will believe when I see it.

The OL will likely be Anderson, Vahe, Shack, E ROd and Kerstetter at the start of camp.

The Line will be better. Williams was not 100% last season, he was not a presence that will be sorely missed. He played in and started five games (Maryland, San Jose State, at USC, at West Virginia, Texas Tech), but missed seven due to injury. He got pushed around versus Maryland, among others.

Everyone else returns.

Calvin Anderson was sought by several blue bloods, He will be a nice addition (you can try to downplay his importance, but even the great Jimbo Aggins tried to get him). E Rod is a 5th year Senior that had the starting spot locked up before the season started but got hurt and missed the year, before getting the start at LT for the Bowl game. They ran well off the Left side versus Mizzou. Patrick Vahe is a Senior that has played LG since he got on campus, Zach Shackelford is a Junior with Two years under his belt at Center and Derek Kerstetter is a Sophomore that started the final 10 games at RT as a true freshman...

I think they'll be pretty good this year and have guys to rotate in Okafor, Hudson, Imade, Urquidez and Cosmi without ever dipping into the true freshmen pool.

Angilau, Ghirmai, Jones and Moore will all likely still get some snaps due to the new Red Shirt rule.

I don't see OL as a problem in 2018.

Running game: Young started to come into his own as a true freshmen, Thank God Warren III is gone ( I was tired of watching him bounce off the back of the OL standing straight up.) They added a known commodity in Cal transfer Tre Watson and still have Houston, Johnson (please stay healthy), Porter, Carter and a kid that I think will make an impact in true freshmen Keaontay Ingram.

If they can get three of these dudes rolling downhill, they'll be in business!

TE: Finally have some depth to this room. Beck as a 5th year, Brewer who made plays in 2017 and two redshirts in Cummings and Leitao with a true freshmen in Epps who should see a shirt for development.

WR: they have plenty of talent at WR.

QB: The deepest QB room Texas has had in years. He already has his guy.

In the end, it doesn't hurt that Defense will be the strength of this team.

I see your point and no way would I like to see the blue blood game go anywhere. However, I would be happy with Ags + BB game. Both sides has a reason NOT to want/need the game. But, it's THE rivalry game for the State of Texas. And the fact that we are in different conferences now, even make it more interesting, IMO. People on both sides keep bringing up the word "need", not directed at you Heath, but why does Florida need to play Florida St, why does Clemson need to play S. Carolina, why does Army need to play Navy, ND vs USC, etc, etc. This game was around when most of our Great grand parents were here, and the current students great great grandparents.

However, at the end of the day it really doesn't matter what we think, the powers that be will either get it done or not.

My preference would be (Rice, Houston or SMU), blue blood, Arkansas and Aggy. Every year.

I hope you're wrong on the Aggies win total. I bet a whopping $100 on the over this weekend in Vegas. The line is 7. I am HOPEFULL for an unexpected win or two to put us over on 8.

Had to throw $20 at 75/1 for an Aggies NC. lol

Going to be an interesting year, really looking forward to some football. 39 days till football.
