Since vegetable gardens are now exploding with fresh veggies and fruit, I figured all of us can post up some good garden recipes.
On the menu will be stuff like...
Tomatos
Okra
Squash
Peppers
Beans
Cucumbers
Watermelon (or any other kind of melon)
Corn and whatever else you all currently have in your gardens.
I grow about 35 tomato plants and my dad grows about the same number. We make a buttload of fresh salsa for us and family members but right now, I've got a lot of squash coming on.
Here is a very simple but effective way to get your squash fix. This morning I picked a couple of squash and brought them into the office. I sliced them up and place them on top of a sheet of aluminum foil. I then sprinkled a little bit of pepper, Tony's, some sugar and a little bit of butter over them. After that I rapped them in foil and placed in the oven on 375 for 35 to 40 minutes. Boy howdy they were good.
