    Disk brake rust

I have a 4 wheeler that has gotten a lot of love in the last two years. It sat for about 3 years and was not used. After a whole bunch of care its up and running great. The last thing left is this little spot of rust on the disk. I believe its from where the pad was sitting during the time it was inactive. The brakes works and operate great its just more of an annoyance. Every Revolution when the rusty spot passes through the pad area it gives a lil squeak. I was going to take a small amount of steel wool to it tomorrow and see if I could get it off without replacing the whole thing (250 bucks).

Any other ideas if it doesn't work.

Call up a couple auto shops and see if you can get them surfaced? They may be to small to for anyones machine

It will most likely go away with use.

those appear to be cut pretty bad. Not sure on thickness but if you can get them turned and new pads I would.

I think you’re on the right track, steel wool should remove it and stop that annoying squeak.
