go to settings- PVR- enable.

then you need a PVR client enabled(who do you want the guide to build from)

well it depends on wether you just want the guide, or if you want to be able to click on the channel from the guide and watch.

some pvr clients are specific to the add-on, some pull the info from whatever add ons you have installed.

so which add on are you using to watch?

ah well that makes sense. mine is set up to use the iptv simple client
settings-add ons- pvr- iptv simple client. this is to be used if subscribed to the iptvsubs
$13/m all cable channels , premium sports ect in HD.

using another one would throw those errors. you can disable it by disabling the EPG (electronic program guide) in settings-addons-services-Iptv EPG -disable or uninstall. then also disable or uninstall the iptv addon in program add ons.

after that you should be able to enable another one, and enable pvr

Tagged! Let me know when you have more boxes available! After reading this thread and looking into the Amazon Fire Tv with Kodi, I'm about to tell Direct tv to pound sand.

Works fine, kodi is actually built to operate off of low speeds. 1.5-3mbps
Of course faster speed works much better.

i have one box left from this last batch. $75 I have more on the way that are double the specs and will be $125

current box is 1gb Ram, 8gb Flash. new box is 2gb ram, 16gb flash.
kodi runs fine on both.

What's the difference in the new vs old boxes in "tech for dummies" talk? ...and how much would two of the new boxes be? My wife just checked with our provider and our internet is currently 12mbps with 350G max. We are upgrading to 24mbps and 450G max per month. Would that be sufficient for 4k HD movies etc...

Quick question for sometime familiar with Kodi and The Beast. This is all fairly new to me and I'm starting to learn how to navigate but would like to have some sort of "favorite" list for all the tv shows we watch. I currently have to go through multiple screens drilling down the menus to get what I'm looking for. It's it possible to make a list?

I built a DB8 antenna for about $15 and got a booster from radio shack for $70 and I get 42 digital channels. My furthest channel I get is around 100 miles away. You can go to tvfool.com and inter a little info and see what channels you can get at your address.

Yes there's a way to make a watch list/library. If your using 1 channel our salts(their only two I know of) there's a video showing how to set up a library on YouTube, just Google how to set up a library on kodi. If your using exodus like I am, you need to enable and install trakt, again a video on YouTube on how to do that also. I'm still learning all this stuff too, and YouTube has helped me allot.

enable the iptv simple client (under pvr addons) enable itpv EPG, and enable the PVR in kodi settings. restart kodi and it should build out the guide for you automatically.

the new ones use a better processor but other than that pretty much the same box but not loaded down with amazons crap.

the fire box is a fine box to use, other than it being slightly more difficult to add kodi to it. not hard, just couple extra steps.

Ok. I was just curious because I got the fire stick, just as a cheap way to figure out if I'd like kodi. Well now that I know I like it, I'm wanting to get something better suited for it. And I was thinking of the fire tv box.

High quality HD live tv channels (all of them) and sports. It gave us ALL of the cable/satellite channels in HD. Its cheaper than 13 per month if you pay for a year in advance.

Yep- iptv is the best option out there to cut your cable bill. It's cheap- works 99% of the time and its like getting the highest package your cable company offers. My build is set up to give you everything you need to cancel cable if that's your intention. Try it out- I like it better than the beast build personally.

I run mine on wifi and don't get any buffering past the first few seconds. Hard wired is always better for faster speeds.

Can try to enable the advanced settings and see if it helps.

We have a half dozen now and must admit, they are awesome! I stream 90% of the time through one of his box builds and the max data we have ran in the past few moths is 50G and that includes my wife's internet classes!
