I shot a pair of Hoodies a few years ago on an East Texas deer lease pond. Expected them to be horrible eating from what I had heard, but they were great. Probably depends on their diet. I'm sure they don't eat just fish.

Shot a merganser when I was a kid my dad said you shot it you eat it, I think I can still taste it , fish meal crossed with bailer twine was how I described it
