We have mule deer but they stay out of our yard.

The green house helps with the cold. Still gets cold in there but I can use straw around the plants to insulate.

Things are taking off well, thanks to my little helper. I tried carrots and onions this year for the first time and I'm not sure how they're doing but they seem slow.

just planted some sweet [emoji535] and bright lights Swiss chard today. Mixed it in with the chard and scallions already growing.

When I checked our little garden this morning, our first tomato was missing. I went ahead and picked the one that had just turned pink and went to look up some good squirrel recipes.

30 day radishes! I planted seed Friday and they are already sprouting!

I believe that damage is actually from the vine borers. Nasty critters and almost impossible to prevent.

                    Okra, radish.

I call 'em squash bugs. Yes, they're the borers.
                      I was thinking more okra.

I gotta get the electric fence up soon... corn n peas are going good now. After fertilizing and side dressing everything on Sunday (bought my wife a 3 point cultivator or Mother's day... ) everything seems to be perkin' up good. Been watering every evening. No deer tracks yet, but saw coon tracks... they were checkin' out the 'maters n squash... What little corn that survived the floods last year, the coons wiped out in one night... were going to harvest the next day It's time for the Duke's too and night vision pellet gun fun... Hope to get home this evening in time to snap a couple pics...

I came across this video about rain gutter gardening yesterday and I checked out a few other videos from him. These set ups seem to be pretty efficient.

                          Check it out:

They get me about every other time I plant squash/zuchinni. I think you should let it rest a year after they 'hit' you. I'm sure I will get popped here shortly as mine are about to start fruiting. Fingers crossed.

My neighbor gave me four varieties of maters and I decided to grow 'em in buckets.
