Convert to stand and fill.

My brother built this stand for the old barrel. Easy to convert in the field. We attached the barrel to the stand with large self tapping screws.

If you have pigs is might be destined to get flipped over if you don't stake it down.

I have 5 done like that but with skids. No problems with pigs or cows knocking them over. So much better than standing on tailgate to fill.

I’m in the process of building one a little taller than yours, and I’m going to donate it to our CCA silent auction in a month. The bottom of the barrel his me at my waist, and I’m 6’ tall.

Thanks guys. We anchored them with rebar and a hammer drill into rock.
My brother bought a little harbour freight welder and watched a bunch of YouTube videos. He did good for a beginner.

The latest one I built. This one is an 85 gallon drum. We have cattle a pigs and we’ve never had a problem with any of ours.
