Best thing is to keep the weight off them. A fit dog is a healthy dog.
Joint supplements and fish oil are good

We have a 13 year old Boxer, have yet to give her supplements. She is in shape and acts like a pup still. Same with DirtyDave, keep the weight off and problems should be minimal and keep them acting young.

Rimadyl was a miracle drug for my 12 year old lab. Started giving her 1/2 pill mornings and other half at night when she was 9... I guarantee you it put a couple extra good years on her.

Careful with that stuff. Long term it's pretty bad on their liver.

X100000000 on weight control and joint issues. And start watching it early. The years have a way of sneaking by.
