Default Sharkathon 2017

I'm loaded up ready to roll out in the morning, I'll be fishing with Breezy and and the Shark Wisperer (Poco) and his family.

Any other TBHers going to be out there?

Hooboy that tourney has grown. I fished it the second year of existence before I had the kids and was a ton of fun. Been wondering if it's still fun or gotten too intense?

I don't have anything to compare it with, last year I just hung out, but there's lots of people fishing.
Some people fish it hard (like Poco) others just fish some and relax.

Poco - Ray won it this year with the 96" bull shark

Well done Ray!

Water is sharky green to 70 miles due to Harvey. Figured it was going to be a nearshore shark species that won this one this year. Bulls and Blacktips love that off color water. Big Hammerheads and Makos prefer that clean, purple/blue water at the 500 yard plus mark.

So glad Ray won!

If you can score around the mid 90s, from historical summary, you stand a good chance of placing.

Hopefully he'll get on here with his write up tomorrow, it'd be much more interesting with his write up than me writing his story.

I'm glad I was lucky enough to be able to my hands on that big fish.

Probably sleeping now. That shark fishing stuff ain't no joke. I went with Ray once and it was almost non stop. By the time we dropped a bait one was all ready on one of the other lines. I've never been so tired in my life. I think we caught something like six sharks that afternoon.

Did nearly the same one morning with ray and I was tired by 9am. Well deserved paycheck. Maybe now he'll lay off the trout in Nueces and give us amateurs a go at them.👍🏻

They were in there thick, last week. Me and the wife went out last Monday and we're done in 20 minutes within in sight of the ramp. That was b4 they started discharging at lake CC.
