This guy just had to test me this evening. I don't take kindly to predators around my chickens. I have saw him 3 times, but not close to the house. Tonight he broke the rules and got lit up with the 17HMR. He is a nice cat, 28 inches from top of the head to his butt..... not tail, butt. And that is not following his body contour. He reminds me of a high school football player, he has the potential, just not there yet. He would have been a really big cat in a year or two.
I think he will most likely grace my trophy room with the other two. I am thinking something special for him, not your typical Bobcat mount. Time will tell. |

I have won mounted that looks just like that but never weighed him. I guesstimated 30lbs on mine. Possibly a tad more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I didn't put him on a scale, but I would guess around the 20 to 25 pound mark. He would have been a dandy in a couple of years. I am just glad I got him before he started getting my chickens. The chickens have been acting strange for a few days, I may now know why.

I do have a mean rooster that will jump on you, that I would have donated to the cause, but he is a really good watchdog for the hens. I have punted him several times and he still wants to fight if you get too close.

Ok so I must need glasses worse that I thought. This bay boy measured out at 34 inches from the tip of his nose to the base of his tail, he lost an inch or so when I skinned him out. To give a little perspective, the biggest form McKenzie sells is 35 inches. I have a pose that I am going to mount him in that is way off the norm, but I think it is going to be really cool and something you may have never seen before. So until the hide is back from the tannery, I will be searching for reference photos.
